چکیده

The catabolic diversity and biocatalytic potential in members of genus Rhodococcus makes it an ideal industrial workhouse for metabolite production. Despite their applicability, Rhodococci are least explored carotenoids, located cell membrane. goal the present study was to identify carotenoids kroppenstedtii MH715196. UV-Vis spectral data molecular mass estimates showed that principal carotenoid extracted from R. MH715196 1’-OH-4-keto-ϒ-carotene. Biosynthetic route 1’-OH-4-keto-ϒ-carotene postulated on basis co-relation with putative biosynthetic genes identified genome reference strains kroppenstedtii. Three key enzymes, were then considered phylogenetic analysis establish relationship across leading way identification other species. would be first report a rare polar which could potentially as food colorant hydrophilic matrices like jams, jellies, beverages etc.

Rhodococcus kroppenstedtii sp. nov., a novel actinobacterium isolated from a cold desert of the Himalayas, India.

The taxonomic position of an actinomycete, strain K07-23T, isolated from a cold desert of the Himalayas, India, was established by a polyphasic approach. The strain exhibited phenotypic characters that were typical of the genus Rhodococcus. 16S rRNA gene sequence (1467 bases) comparisons confirmed that strain K07-23T belongs to the genus Rhodococcus. 16S rRNA sequence similarity studies showed ...

Isolation and primary characterization of an amidase from Rhodococcus rhodochrous.

Amidase (EC 3.5.1.4) was purified to homogeneity from Rhodococcus rhodochrous M8 using isopropanol fractionation and exchange chromatography on Mono Q. The isolated amidase consists of four identical subunits with molecular weight 42+/-2 kD. The activity of the enzyme is maximal at 55-60 degrees C and within the pH range 5-8. The amidase from R. rhodochrous M8 is highly sensitive to such sulfhy...
